Taxonomy
Trematoceras watanabei was named by Niko and Ehiro (2020). Its type specimen is IGPS 112409, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fk-1b, Ozashi area, Jusanhama, which is in an Anisian deep-water sandstone/mudstone in the Fukkoshi Formation of Japan.
