Taxonomy

Mangilia fancherae was named by Dall (1903). It is extant.

It was recombined as Moniliopsis fancherae by Dall (1919); it was recombined as Clathrodrillia (Moniliopsis) fancherae by Dall (1921); it was recombined as Moniliopsis incisa fancherae by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Clathrodrillia incisa fancherae by Willett (1946); it was recombined as Ophiodermella incisa fancherae by Valentine (1958); it was recombined as Clathrodrillia fancherae by Kanakoff and Emerson (1959).

Synonyms

Turris (Drillia) modestus was named by Moody (1916). Its type specimen is UCMP 11080, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 3030, Fourth Street and Broadway Street, Los Angeles, which is in a Piacenzian marine claystone in the Fernando Formation of California.

It was replaced with Borsonella polynotata by Hanna (1924); it was synonymized subjectively with Moniliopsis incisa fancherae by Grant and IV and Gale (1931).

Turris (Surcula) halcyonis was named by Dall (1908). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 110644.
