Voluceropecten volucer

Taxonomy
Aviculopecten volucer was named by Lutkevitch and Lobanova (1960). It is a mold. Its type locality is Levyi Vodopadnyi Creek, Omolon Massif (upper I. evenicum subzone), which is in a Changhsingian marine siliciclastic in the Khivach Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Voluceropecten.

It was synonymized subjectively with Vnigripecten phosphaticus by Muromtseva and Guskov (1984); it was recombined as Voluceropecten volucer by Biakov (2024).
