Taxonomy
Ammonites gibbosulus was named by d'Orbigny (1850). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R07513 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Holcodiscus (Spitidiscus) gibbosulus by Cottreau (1934).
