Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
Z. I. Glezer et al. 1992 | Colonies straight tight cells are connected by linking spines of various morphologies, usually forming two rings. The terminal valve does not have marginal spines. The frustule is a shallow cylinder, the valves are connected by their ring diaphragm. The valves are round and flat with a weakly convex face, in the centre there are small bumps surrounding small depressions. Relatively sparse areolae. The marginal part is wide, occupying roughly half the valve area, with radial rows of areolae. On the mantle the areolae are in short, straight, vertical and horizontal rows. On their internal surface the valve face has no structure, small rimoportulae form a ring in a margin near the ring diaphragm. |
