Taxonomy
Diacanthocapsa was named by Squinabol (1903) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo-u K Camp]. It is the type genus of Diacanthocapsinae.

It was assigned to Diacanthocapsinae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Nassellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
