Taxonomy
Miettia salientensis was named by Hofmann and Mountjoy (2010). Its type specimen is RBCM.EH2010.003.0008, an other, and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is East Colonel Thrust Section Bed P, which is in an Ediacaran marginal marine siltstone/shale in the East Twin Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Miettia.
