Taxonomy
Megastomia canaliculata was named by Banerjee and Halder (2023). Its type specimen is PG/CG/Pd11, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is MGS3 Cambay Shale Mangrol Mine , which is in a Ypresian marginal marine shale in the Cambay Shale Formation of India.
