Cryptovaranoides microlanius
Taxonomy
Cryptovaranoides microlanius was named by Whiteside et al. (2022). Its type specimen is NHMUK PV R36822, a partial skeleton (partly articulated anterior skeleton and associated partial skull and lower jaws), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cromhall Quarry general, which is in a Carnian fissure fill limestone/mudstone in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Cryptovaranoides.
