Protocycloceras laswelli was named by Hook and Flower (1977). It is not extant. It is the type species of Rhabdocycloceras.
It was recombined as Anrangeroceras laswelli by Hook and Flower (1977); it was recombined as Rhabdocycloceras laswelli by Zhuravleva (1994).
