Plesiacanthoceratoides alzadense
Taxonomy
Protacanthoceras alzadense was named by Cobban (1987). Its type specimen is USNM 388198 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic 22871, Alzada, which is in a Cenomanian marine shale in the Belle Fourche Shale Formation of Montana.
It was recombined as Plesiacanthoceratoides alzadense by Kennedy and Cobban (1990).
