Taxonomy
Chonetes phosphoriensis was named by Branson (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wind River Mountains (Pustula Member, just below top phosphate), which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Park City Formation of Wyoming.
