Taxonomy
Ingelarella symmetrica was named by Campbell (1961). Its type specimen is UNE F5851 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UQ L1624, Homevale Bed 7, Nebo Synclinorium, which is in an Artinskian marine sandstone in the Tiverton Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Tomiopsis (Ambikella) symmetrica by Waterhouse (1998).
