Taxonomy
Ambikella dissimilis subplicata was named by Waterhouse (1968). Its type specimen is BR 1357, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is GS9697, Letham Burn (D44/f9001), which is in a Wordian marine horizon in the Mangarewa Formation of New Zealand.
It was recombined as Tomiopsis (Ingelarella) subplicata by Waterhouse (1998).
