Taxonomy
Ahdeskatanka russlanddeutsche was named by Cossette and Tarailo (2024). Its type specimen is YPM VPPU.016990, a skull (skull, isolated mandibular elements, 10 loose teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is White Butte/Turtle Valley, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial claystone in the Golden Valley Formation of North Dakota. It is the type species of Ahdeskatanka.
