whorls; spire moderately high, of 6–7 convex whorls; suture impressed; whorls with equally prominent spiral and axial ribs forming a reticulate ornamentation pattern, axial ribs straighter and fewer in number in early whorls, numerous and sinuous in later whorls with intercalatory riblets; number of spiral ribs also increases with ontogeny, spirally elongated tubercles at their intersection; last whorl flatter; base almost flat and wide with prominent spiral ribs; aperture rounded; thick inner lip callus with a ridge; growth lines broadly concave forward on whorl sides, curve forward at base. |
