Forbesasterias gaveyi
Taxonomy
Asterias gaveyi was named by Forbes (1850). Its type specimen is Holotype BNHM E 1638 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mickleton Tunnel, near Chipping Campden, which is in a Davoei transition zone/lower shoreface shale in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Forbesasterias.
It was recombined as Uraster gaveyi by Wright (1863), Quenstedt (1876); it was recombined as Forbesasterias gaveyi by Fau et al. (2024).
