The species "Gobiida" brioche was assigned to "Gobius" brioche (Lin, Girone & Nolf, 2015) in Lin et al. Taxonomy
Gobiida brioche was named by Lin et al. (2015). Its type specimen is P 9430, an otolith (sagitta), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Moncucco Torinese, which is in a Tortonian deep-water sandstone in the Sant’Agata Fossili Formation of Italy.
