| M. Newman 2002 | A very long and slender achanarellid. The epichordal lobe of the caudal ®n has faint supportive rods that are widely spaced. The chordal lobe is very long and slender and tapers to a ®ne point at its posterior end. The anal ®n is fairly large, with the anterior edge being shorter than the posterior edge with ratio of about 0´8:1. The head is proportionally very small compared with the rest of the body with a ratio of 0´08:1. The eyes are large and conspicuous. The branchial basket consists of at least 13, and perhaps as many as 20 or more branchial openings. The ®rst branchial opening is a short distance behind the orbit. |
