Myrakeena veatchii

Taxonomy
Ostrea veatchii was named by Gabb (1866) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Pleistocene; California-Mexico]. Its type specimen is ANSP 4502, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Ostrea vespertina by Jordan and Hertlein (1926), Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was synonymized subjectively with Ostrea haitensis vespertina by Stewart (1930); it was recombined as Lopha (Lopha) veatchii by Moore (1987); it was recombined as Myrakeena veatchii by Squires et al. (2006).
