Ficus clallamensis was named by Weaver (1912). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UW 107, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in Washington.
It was recombined as Trophosycon clallamense by English (1914); it was recombined as Ficus (Trophosycon) clallamensis by Grant and IV and Gale (1931).
