Taxonomy
Trematoceras osawaense was named by Niko and Ehiro (2024). Its type specimen is IGPS 112844, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 1a, Nameshi-zawa Valley, south of Asadanuki, which is in a Spathian marine mudstone in the Osawa Formation of Japan.
