Acanthodistacodus victrix
Taxonomy
Distacodus victrix was named by Moskalenko (1973) [= Drepanodus flagellus pseudoaltipes Knilpfer: Moskalenko, 1973, pp. 31–32, pl. 2, figs. 5, 6; Moskalenko, 1978, p. 111, pl. 21, fig. 1.]. Its type specimen is IGG 397/4, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Drepanodistacodus.
It was recombined as Drepanodistacodus victrix by Kanygin (1977); it was recombined as Acanthodistacodus victrix by Tolmacheva et al. (2024).

Tolmacheva et al. 2024 | Small hyaline conodonts have a high base and an inclined cusp and pointed costas with thin edges extending from the apical part of the cusp to the basal edge of the base. The apparatus of the species includes four main types of elements: dolaborate elements with an anterior and a posterior costa, quadricostate elements with an anterior, a posterior, and lateral costas, symmetrical quinquicostate elements with five costas, and bipennate scandodontiform elements. |
