Litoria tylerantiqua
Taxonomy
Litoria tylerantiqua was named by Farman et al. (2025). Its type specimen is QM F61265, a limb element (left ilium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tingamarra Local Fauna - Boat Mountain deposit, which is in a Ypresian lacustrine claystone/sandstone in Australia. It is the type species of Litoria.

Farman et al. 2025 | This Tingamarra species differs from other fossil species of Litoria (see Table 2) by possessing a unique combination of traits as follows: reduced dorsal acetabular expansion projecting posteriorly; angle between dorsal acetabular expansion and dorsal prominence (DAE-DP) greater than 90°; angle between ventral margin of ilial shaft and preacetabular zone (VSA) greater than 90° (∼154°); ventral acetabular expansion forming straight ventral extension; anterior acetabular rim anteriorly inflected; wide preacetabular zone forming straight ventral extension with no concavity; symmetrical dorsal prominence located posterior to anterior acetabular rim and extending slightly dorsal to dorsal margin of ilial shaft; medial and lateral grooves present; and spiral groove, and supracetabular and preacetabular fossae absent. |
