Taxonomy
Pterotrigonia (Pterotrigonia) savagei was named by Cooper (1979). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Knysna, Brenton Formation, Unit II, Western Cape, which is in a Valanginian coastal sandstone in the Brenton Formation of South Africa.
It was recombined as Pterotrigonioides savagei by Cooper (2015).
