Pycnogryphaea weberae

Bivalvia - Ostreida - Gryphaeidae

Taxonomy
Gryphaea weberae was named by Yanin and Tschelzova (1969) [Yanin in Tschelzova 1969.]. Its type specimen is CP MSU 331/16 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Balki, Sarysu River, which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in Ukraine. It is the type species of Pycnogryphaea.

It was recombined as Pycnodonte weberae by Arkadiev (1997); it was recombined as Pycnogryphaea weberae by Kosenko (2018).
