Willipteria falcata
Taxonomy
Leptodesma (Leptodesma) falcata was named by Boyd and Newell (2001). Its type specimen is USNM 431327, a valve (Left valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM703c, Old Word Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian slope limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Willipteria falcata by Yancey (2024).
