Taxonomy
Agonopsis cume was named by Schwarzhans and Nielsen (2021). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is SGO.PV.1692, an otolith, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North of Rio Rapel, which is in a Miocene deep-water sandstone in the Navidad Formation of Chile.

W. W. Schwarzhans and S. N. Nielsen 2021OL:OH = 2.15–2.35. Otolith shape fusi- form with symmetrically pointed rostrum and posterior tip. Inner face distinctly convex; outer face flat. Ostium slightly widening towards anterior, particularly dorsally, longer than cauda; OsL:CaL = 1.1–1.2. Cauda slightly flexed close to termination.
