Taxonomy
Pidiobolus minimus was named by Mergl (1995). Its type specimen is MBHR 65878 (dorsal valve) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Těně (west), which is in an Arenigian marine siltstone in the Klabava Formation of Czechia. It is the type species of Pidiobolus.
