Taxonomy
Azarinautilus phorminx was named by Korn and Hairapetian (2025). Its type specimen is MfN MB.C.32121, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Baghuk Mountain G section, -2.00 m, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate lime mudstone in the Hambast Formation of Iran.
