Taxonomy
Platycrinus granuliferus was named by Roemer (1843).

It was recombined as Hexacrinus granulifer by Sandberger and Sandberger (1856); it was recombined as Hexacrinites granuliferus by Bohatý (2008); it was recombined as Megaradialocrinus granuliferus by Bohatý (2010), Webster and Webster (2012).
