Taxonomy
Cathaysia striata was named by Zhou and He (2025). Its type specimen is CUGW-DXK44-01, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is DXK44, Daxiankeng section , which is in a Changhsingian marine limestone in the Jiupi Formation of China.
