Taxonomy
Gotlandechinus balticus was named by Regnéll (1956). It is not extant. Its type locality is Echinoids of the Klinteberg Group on Gotland, which is in a Homerian/Gorstian marine limestone/marl in the Klinteberg Beds Formation of Sweden. It is the type species of Gotlandechinus.
