Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
G. Sobral and R. R. Schoch 2026Airistagiz seegisi is diagnosed by very broad, plate-like parietals, jugal with extremely long anterior process, squamosal with short ventral process, ilium with prominent supra-acetabular buttress and dorsal margin of iliac blade strongly antero-ventrally inclined. Airistagiz seegisi can also be differentiated from other taxa from the same locality based on the low maxillary dorsal process, the hourglass-shaped frontal with a laterodorsally located articular facet for the postfrontal and the dentary bowed medially for most of its length. In addition, Airistagiz seegisi can be differentiated from Vellbergia bartholomaei by the triangular postfrontal and by the pleurodont tooth implantation, as well as from Fraxinisaura rozynekae by the knobbed prefrontal, the curved humeral shaft and the robust ilium with a short and low blade.
