Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
M. Jobbins et al. 2025Medium-sized placoderm with tuberculated ornamentation; extensive contact between the pineal and central plates; no preorbital medial contact; lateral and posterior lobes of the central plates are present but the latter is not acutely developed; long extent of the marginal plate along the lateral border of the skull; the supraorbital and central sensory lines meet on the central plate; partially closed angle between the postorbital and otic branches of the infraorbital sensory line groove; inferognathal with small anterior cusp. Traits unique to the taxon among eastmanosteids include globular, T-shaped rostral plate with an anterior development; pineal plate with anterolateral concave margins; anterior lobe of central plate is elongate and narrow; marginal plate with a posterolaterally developed lobe ventral to the main lateral line; nuchal elongate and narrow anteriorly with a straight posterior margin wider than length of the plate. Two posterior pit lines branch off from the main lateral line, with the lateral one more superficial. Anterior superognathal with posterolateral process highly reduced dorsally. Inferognathal biting division bearing only one or two shearing denticles.
