Taxonomy
Carolowilhelmina geognostica was named by Mark-Kurik and Carls (2002). Its type specimen is MPZ 95/174, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rio Moyuela (Rio Santa Maria), upper limestone of Member E, which is in an Eifelian basinal (carbonate) limestone/shale in the Moyuela Formation of Spain. It is the type species of Carolowilhelmina.
