Taxonomy
Sunnyodon was named by Kielan-Jaworowska and Ensom (1992) [from Purbeck Limestone, Sunnydown Farm Quarry locality]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Paulchoffatoidea by Kielan-Jaworowska and Ensom (1992); and to Paulchoffatiidae by Hahn (1993), Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004) and Allain et al. (2022).
