Taxonomy
Plesiastropecten hallovensis was named by Peyer (1944). It is not extant. Its type locality is Echinoderms, Angulatus zone, Hettangian, Schaffhausen, Hallau, which is in a Hettangian offshore claystone/sandstone in Switzerland. It is the type species of Plesiastropecten.
