Taxonomy
Pterinea undata was named by Emmons (1842) [DISTRIBUTION: Ordovician; North America.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ambonychia undata by Hall (1847); it was recombined as Clionychia undata by Ulrich (1894), Soot-Ryen and Soot-Ryen (1960); it was recombined as Cleionychia undata by Pojeta (1966).
