Taxonomy
Ellobiidae was named by Pfeiffer (1854) [m. kosnik taxon no: 5321]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Melampidae by Jeffery (2003).

It was assigned to Akteophila by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); and to Ellobioidea by Todd (2001), Bouchet et al. (2005), Salvador (2015), Bouchet et al. (2017).
