Taxonomy
Hercorhyncus was named by Conrad (1868) [Sepkoski's age data: K Coni-u K Maes-u m. kosnik taxon no: 4702]. It is not extant.

It was corrected as Hercorhynchus by Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Fusininae by Sohl (1964), Sohl (1964); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Fasciolariinae by Snyder (2003); and to Moreidae by Bandel and Dockery (2012).
