Taxonomy
Molpadiidae was named by Müller (1850) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10542]. It is extant. It was considered monophyletic by Kerr and Kim (2001).

It was assigned to Holothuroidea by Müller (1850), Rowe and Gates (1995); and to Molpadiida by Frizzell and Exline (1966), Pawson (1966), Gilliland (1993), Kerr and Kim (2001).
