Taxonomy

Naticina obliqua was named by Gabb (1864) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10142].

It was recombined as Sinum obliquum by Waring (1917), Stewart (1927), Clark (1938), Moore (1976), Marincovich (1977), Squires (1984), Squires (1987); it was recombined as Eunaticina obliqua by Nelson (1925); it was recombined as Sinum obliqua by Durham (1944), Squires (1988).

Synonyms

Sinum occidentis was named by Weaver and Palmer (1922). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UW 319, which is in a Bartonian marine horizon in the Cowlitz Formation of Washington.

It was synonymized subjectively with Sinum obliquum by Stewart (1927), Marincovich (1977), Squires (1984).
Sinum coryliforme was named by Anderson and Hanna (1925). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 244, Live Oak Canyon, which is in an Eocene marginal marine sandstone/shale in the Tejon Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Sinum obliquum by Stewart (1927), Marincovich (1977), Squires (1984).
