Taxonomy
Hahnodon was named by Sigogneau-Russell (1991). It is not extant. Its type is Hahnodon taqueti. It is the type genus of Hahnodontidae.

It was assigned to Hahnodontidae by Sigogneau-Russell (1991), Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Hahn and Hahn (2003), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
