It was assigned to Alethinophidia by Tchernov et al. (2000); to Ophidia by Lee and Scanlon (2002); to Macrostomata by Rieppel et al. (2003); to Pachyophiidae by Rieppel and Head (2004); to Alethinophidia by Longrich et al. (2012); and to Ophidia by Palci et al. (2013).
