Taxonomy

Pleurotomaria (Raphistoma) attleborensis was named by Shaler and Foerste (1888). It is the type species of Aldanella.

It was recombined as Aldanella attleborensis by Vostokova (1962), Rozanov et al. (1969), Golubev (1976), Runnegar (1981), Runnegar and Pojeta (1985), Val'kov (1987), Landing (1988), Landing et al. (1989), Bokova (1990), Gubanov et al. (2004), Kouchinsky et al. (2017).

Synonyms

Aldanella yangjiaheensis was named by Chen (1984). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jijiapo, bed 7, which is in a Meishucunian deep subtidal shelf dolomite in the Yanjiahe Formation of China.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aldanella attleborensis by Landing (1988); it was misspelled as Aldanella yanjiahensis by Steiner et al. (2007).
Paraaldanella kotuica was named by Golubev (1976). It is the type species of Paraaldanella.

It was recombined as Aldanella kotuica by Parkhaev (2007); it was synonymized subjectively with Aldanella utchurica by Parkhaev and Karlova (2011).
Aldanella kolymica was named by Barskova (1988). It is not extant. Its type locality is Y-87/13b, upper reaches of Bol’Shaya River, watershed of Bystry-Pervy streams, which is in a Tommotian marine limestone in the Russian Federation.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aldanella attleborensis by Wagner (2023).
Aldanella operosa was named by Rozanov and Missarzhevsky (1966) [Aldanella operosa Missarzhevsky in Rozanov & Missarzhevsky 1966]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aldanella attleborensis by Landing (1988).
Aldanella polonica was named by Lendzion (1977). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aldanella attleborensis by Landing (1988).
Aldanella rozanovi was named by Rozanov et al. (1969) [Aldanella rozanovi Missarzhevsky in Rozanov, Missarzhevsky, Volkova, Voronova, Krylov, Keller, Korolyuk, Lendzion, Mikhnyar, Pykhova & Sidorov 1969]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aldanella attleborensis by Landing (1988).
Aldanella utchurica was named by Rozanov et al. (1969) [Aldanella utchurica Missarzhevsky in Rozanov, Missarzhevsky, Volkova, Voronova, Krylov, Keller, Korolyuk, Lendzion, Mikhnyar, Pykhova & Sidorov 1969]. Its type specimen is GIN 3593//100, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is M410/84, Ary-Mas-Yuryakh River mouth, which is in a Tommotian carbonate limestone in the Medvezhyn Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aldanella attleborensis by Landing (1988).
