Taxonomy
Platyceras nettersheimensis was named by Heidelberger (2003). Its type locality is Nettersheim, Sötenich Syncline, Eifel Mountain, which is in an Eifelian shallow subtidal limestone in the Ahrdorf Formation of Germany.
