Taxonomy
Yochelcionella americana was named by Runnegar and Pojeta (1980). Its type locality is USGS 2448-CO. Thomasville Stone and Lime Company. Thomasville, which is in a Dyeran carbonate dolomite in the Vintage Formation of Pennsylvania.
It was recombined as Runnegarella americana by Parkhaev (2002).
