Protoscaphirhynchus squamosus
Taxonomy
Protoscaphirhynchus squamosus was named by Wilimovsky (1956). Its type specimen is UMMP 22210, a partial skeleton, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Bear Creek/Rock Creek (UMMP), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Hell Creek Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Protoscaphirhynchus.
