Radiocella was named by Senowbari-Daryan and Wurm (1994). It is not extant. Its type is Radiocella prima. It is the type genus of Radiocelliidae.

It was assigned to Radiocelliidae by Senowbari-Daryan and Wurm (1994) and Senowbari-Daryan and Rigby (2015).
